JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (November 12, 2025) – The Atlantic Sun Conference announced Wednesday the University of North Alabama soccer team earned four Academic All-ASUN selections.
Graduate forward
Alice Bussey, senior midfielder
Molly Parham, junior midfielder
Adelyn Speight and graduate goalkeeper
Madison Vukas represented the Lions on this year's list.
The four selections mark the most in a single season during UNA's Division I era, surpassing the 2023 total of three honorees —
Montana Merkle,
Hannah Guthrie and Bussey.
Bussey is the only repeat recipient of the award for UNA. She and Parham were also named College Sports Communicators Academic All-District in 2023.
Bussey, a 4.0 master's in business administration student, led the Lions this season in goals (5), shots (39) and shots on goal (27). The three-time captain ranked fourth in the ASUN in shots on goal and 10th in total shots. She earned ASUN Player of the Week honors after posting two goals and an assist across two wins, totaling five shots and four shots on goal in 110 minutes of play.
Vukas, a 4.0 master's in sports management student, set program records for fewest goals allowed in a season (12) and Division I single-season marks for saves (111) and goals-against average (0.624). The graduate keeper earned ASUN Goalkeeper of the Week honors following back-to-back shutouts against Tennessee Tech and Central Arkansas.
Speight, a finance major and first-time captain, anchored a back line that produced nine shutouts and allowed fewer than one goal per game. She earned ASUN Defender of the Week after a shutout win over UT Martin — the team's second consecutive clean sheet, the first such streak since 2023.
Parham, a two-year captain and exercise science major, helped lead one of the ASUN's toughest defenses. A steady presence in midfield, she disrupted passing lanes, limited scoring chances and pressured opposing defenses. She helped force 99 opponent shots off target as the Lions allowed the fewest goals in the conference.
The group helped North Alabama post the ASUN's best defensive mark for goals allowed and finish with the nation's top save percentage (90.2%) entering the conference championships.
"It is exciting to see the ladies get rewarded for their performances, on and off the field," said UNA head coach
Chris Walker. "They have all excelled in the classroom and performed at a high standard on the pitch."
All four were key contributors to the Lions' bounce-back 2025 season, which ended with an 8-5-6 record and a return to the ASUN postseason. The team recorded nine shutouts, including one that gave Walker his 100th career win.
Bussey, Parham and Vukas concluded their UNA careers following the 2025 season.
