JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (November 13, 2025) – The Atlantic Sun Conference announced Wednesday that three members of the University of North Alabama women's cross country team earned Academic All-ASUN honors.

Junior twins Savannah Williams and Taylor Williams, along with sophomore Mary Anna Trimble, received the awards — the most for the women's program in a single season during its Division I era.

The last Academic All-ASUN honoree for UNA was Sage Betts in 2023. The program also had two recipients in 2019: Emma Knight and Kara Nix.

Trimble, a sophomore from UNA's marketing program, boasts an outstanding GPA while pursuing her bachelor's degree. Now in her third semester, she has completed 60 percent of her degree requirements — 72 of the 120 credit hours needed after the 2025 spring semester.

This season, Trimble set personal records in both the 5K and 6K. She ran a 25:31.3 in the 6K at the Gans Creek Classic and a 20:32.1 in the 5K at the ASUN Championship.

Savannah Williams, pursuing a bachelor's degree in physical education, has overcome injuries throughout her career to compete in all five races this season — the most in a single season during her time at UNA.

She consistently finished second among the Lions, setting two personal records this season with a 19:24.5 in the 5K at the ASUN Championship and a 23:43.2 in the 6K at the Gans Creek Classic.

Taylor Williams, majoring in accounting, set her personal record at the Gans Creek Classic with a 25:34.2 in the 6K.

"We talk about competing in the classroom and on the course," head coach Connor Callahan said. "These women continue to set the standard for what we are looking to achieve."
