SAN DIEGO (November 5, 2025) – The University of North Alabama men's tennis team has two student-athletes, Alberto Altur and Izan Orgiles, who will head to San Diego, Calif. this weekend for the ITA Conference Masters Championships from Nov. 6-9.
The two will represent the Atlantic Sun Conference in the final action for men's tennis this fall. The tournament features 27 singles and 26 doubles competitors from Division I conferences across the country competing for spots at the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships.
Altur and Orgiles secured their spots in flying fashion at the Conference Individual Tournament last time out. Facing the top players from ASUN schools, Altur won all five of his singles bouts en route to the singles bid while claiming the doubles bid with Orgiles for four-straight doubles victories.
The two will look to secure one of seven total bids to the NCAA Championships from Nov. 18-23 in Orlando, Fla. The semifinalists in singles qualify for the championships along with the doubles champion, finalist and third-place winner.
Altur opens the tournament with singles on Thursday, Nov. 6 at 11 a.m. Altur and Orgiles opens doubles later in the day at 5 p.m.
