FLORENCE, Ala. (March 14, 2025) – The University of North Alabama football team is at the halfway point of 2025 spring training, as the Lions will complete their seventh practice Friday evening.
The Lions return 82 players from last season while welcoming 12 transfers to the fold for spring training. UNA only lost 27 lettermen from last season, including 16 that graduated from the program.
This spring, the Lions also debuted a new-look coaching staff under third year head coach
Brent Dearmon, including six position coaches, a new director of football performance and the promotion of
Morgan Cruce to offensive coordinator.
"At the halfway mark of spring ball, we have been able to acclimate a new-look staff while also continuing to build the foundation of the program," said Dearmon. "There is competition at almost every position group, which will lead to an elite level of football. We look forward to seeing high school coaches, recruits, alumni and families over the next few weeks."
The Lions will practice six more times before the 2025 Spring Game, which is set for the morning of Saturday, April 12 at the Cox Creek Spring Sports Complex. More details surrounding this game will be released at a later time.
The Saturday before the Spring Game, UNA Football will host an alumni cookout at the practice field on April 5. All football alumni are invited to attend. More details will be made available on social media.
In addition to spring training, the program is hosting the
Brent Dearmon Coaching Clinic Presented by Mugshots this Saturday, March 15. Individuals can register for $50, and the staff rate is $250. The clinics are open to any and all entrants limited only by number, age, grade level and/or gender.
