GULF SHORES, Ala. (March 18, 2025) – The University of North Alabama women's golf team finished play at the Bama Beach Bash in Gulf Shores, Ala. on Tuesday, tying with fellow ASUN member EKU for sixth place with a final card of 68-over-par 932.

Though the Lions did not move up or down on the final day, the program had two of the only four eagles hit in the tournament.

Freshman Sirichaya Chanpen was the highlight of the round, moving up 11 spots to finish 22nd at 17-over 233. Chanpen recorded an eagle on hole 14 and added birdies on holes 7, 9 and 18 to card a 74 for the round.

The other UNA eagle came from senior Hannah Dees on hole nine — the same one birdied by Chanpen. She carded a three on the par-five and went on to finish 29th overall at 20-over 236.

Senior Jahnavi Prakhya had two birdies on the final five holes for a strong finish, moving up seven spots to 26th at 19-over 235. Rounding out the order was redshirt sophomore Kerigan Klauber and freshman Elsa Maren Steinarsdottir in 36th. This ranks near the middle of the pack of the 65-golfer field.

No. 36 ranked Iowa State won the event, shooting five-under as a team in the final round to finish 13-over 877. UNC Asheville was second at 51-over 915, followed by Georgia State (918), Southern Miss (919), West Georgia (927), UNA and EKU (932), East Texas A&M (937), host school UAB (940) and UAlbany (973).

The Lions have two more events before the ASUN Championship in April, starting with the Nashville Invitational hosted by Lipscomb March 24-25 at Hermitage Course President's Reserve Track.
