FLORENCE, Ala. (March 27, 2025) – The University of North Alabama men's tennis team preps for two duals from the UNA Tennis Courts, hosting the Stetson Hatters and FGCU Eagles this weekend in Florence.
The Lions are set for a big home weekend in Atlantic Sun Conference play, taking on conference preseason favorites Stetson along with ASUN power FGCU. UNA opens against the Hatters on Friday, March 28, concluding against the Eagles on Sunday, March 30.
The duals serve as doubleheaders with UNA Women's Tennis, who open against the Hatters and Eagles each morning at 11 a.m.
First serve for both duals are set for 3 p.m. Live stats will be available for both duals with links becoming available closer to match time.

LAST TIME OUT: UNA earned its third win in ASUN play with a 6-1 home win over Lipscomb last week. The Lions dominated both singles and doubles play, extending its home record to 6-0 on the season.
SCOUTING THE LIONS: UNA looks to extends its winning ways with the Lions winning their last six duals. North Alabama has been victorious in 61.1 percent of its doubles matches, but increases in singles play with a 70.8 percent win rate. Three Lions are tied for the team-high eight doubles victories in senior Nazar Fedoryshyn along with the sophomore tandem of Birtan Duran and Izan Orgiles. Duran and Fedoryshyn are 8-2 in doubles matches, with Orgiles and sophomore Alberto Altur second with a 7-2 record. Altur, Duran and freshman Satoru Nakajima are in a three-way tie with a leading nine singles wins.
SCOUTING STETSON: The Hatters open the weekend against the Lions, with Stetson sporting a 12-3 record overall and 3-0 in the ASUN. The Hatters is in the midst of a seven-dual win streak, last time out rolling to home victories over EKU and Queens. Stetson was voted the preseason favorite in the ASUN's Coaches Poll, taking the top spot with seven first-place votes. The Hatters are winning 63.2 percent of doubles matches, with Stetson victorious in 70 percent of its singles matches. Xavier Sarda Marti leads the team with 12 singles wins, and the pair of Eder Blanco and Christian Kuehne lead with nine doubles victories. Stetson also has the ASUN's Men's Tennis Player of the Week in Lucas Olivier. The Hatters are led by head coach Christophe Noblet.
SERIES HISTORY: The Lions and Hatters meet for the fourth time in the all-time series history. Stetson leads the series, 3-0, with the Hatters taking a narrow 4-3 win last time out on March 15, 2024.
SCOUTING FGCU: The final dual of the weekend sees FGCU coming to Florence with an 8-12 record while 2-1 in the ASUN. The Eagles were victorious in their last two duals, defeating both Queens and EKU in home bouts. Prior to the season, FGCU was picked to finish fourth in the ASUN Men's Tennis Preseason Poll. The team sports a 42.6 percent win percentage in doubles and a 41.2 win rate in singles play. Hugo Magnusson leads in both singles and doubles wins, registering 10 singles victories with nine doubles wins. The Eagles are led by head coach Josh Molino.
SERIES HISTORY: North Alabama and FGCU face each other in the fourth all-time series meeting. The Lions are 1-2 and won their first matchup against the Eagles in 2024, taking a 4-3 road victory on March 17, 2024.
