Austin Tucker joined the UNA staff in March of 2018 as receivers coach and helped lead the Lions to a solid 7-3 record in the program's first season of Division I FCS competition.
The UNA offense set a school record with just nine turnovers in 2018 and the team's performance was highlighted by a group of four redshirt freshman receivers who combined to catch 145 passes for 1,861 yards and 14 touchdowns.
Tucker served an offensive graduate assistant at the University of Memphis in 2017 after working as a graduate assistant at Auburn University in 2016. He followed UNA offensive coordinator
Ryan Aplin in his position at Auburn.
He joined the UNA staff on the team's first day of 2018 spring drills.
Prior to taking a position at Auburn, Tucker worked two seasons as offensive coordinator at Hewitt-Trussville High School in the Birmingham area and had also been offensive coordinator at Shiloh Christian. He served under head coach Josh Floyd at both schools.
Tucker played receiver and quarterback at Shiloh Christian High School in Springdale, Ark., where he won a Class 3A state championship in 2006. He then played receiver at the University of Arkansas from 2007 to 2011 where he was the kick holder for the last two seasons.
Tucker and his wife Adrienne have daughters, Willa and Finley and a son, Ezekiel.
