Ben Hamner joined the North Alabama Football staff on May 2, 2024 in the role of Football Director of Player Personnel.
Hamner came to UNA from the University of Alabama, where he was a recruiting intern with the Crimson Tide since August 2021. While at Alabama, Hamner assisted in the evaluation of prospective players and aided select assistant coaches with travel and home recruiting events. His coverage area included the Carolinas, Georgia, North Florida, East Tennessee, South Virginia and North Alabama.
While working on staff at Alabama, Hamner was part of two SEC Championships in 2021 and 2023 and was on staff for the 2022 Sugar Bowl victory. He also helped Alabama record top-two recruiting classes all three seasons.
A former Brooks High School standout from Killen, Ala., Hamner completed his Associate Degree from Northwest Shoals Community College in December of 2019. He then earned both his Bachelor and Master of Science degrees from the University of Alabama in May 2022 and May 2024, respectively. He finished his Master's with a perfect 4.0 GPA.
