Former University of North Alabama defensive standout Khyle Jackson returned to the Lions' program as defensive backs coach at UNA in January of 2022.
Jackson was a member of the UNA football team from 2012-16 and was a part of Lion teams that reached the NCAA Playoffs four times and won four Gulf South Conference Championships.
A graduate of Madison Academy, Jackson played in eight games as a freshman at UNA in 2012, 13 games as a sophomore in 2013 and 11 as a junior in 2014. After redshirting in 2015, Jackson helped lead the Lions to the NCAA Division II National Championship Game as a senior, making 51 tackles. He added a 93-yard interception return for a touchdown.
For his career at UNA, Jackson played in 45 total games with 83 tackles, three interceptions and three fumbles recovered.
A 2016 UNA graduate with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science, Jackson returns to UNA after serving as a defensive graduate assistant coach at the University of South Alabama. He previously served as an assistant coach at Landmark Christian (Ga.) School in 2018 and at Madison (Ala.) Academy in 2019.
