Biography

UNA 2016: Carpenter finished the 2016 season with a 33-3 record in the circle, breaking numerous records and winning multiple accolades along the way...Her final victory of the season was a 4-1 win over Humboldt State to capture the 2016 Division II National Championship...she was named MVP of the tournament after posting a 5-1 record, setting an NCAA record for wins at the championship event...her 33 victories broke her own school record for wins in a season...at the career level, she already owns the record for most victories (74) and innings pitched (558.1)...prior to the World Series, key victories in the circle throughout the season helped lead the Lions to titles at the Gulf South Conference, South 1 Regional and Super Regional levels...she received GSC Pitcher of the Week honors and was named first team All-GSC and first team All-South Region by D2CCA and the NFCA...she finished the season with a 1.43 ERA in 41 appearances with 12 shutouts, 155 strikeouts and two saves. She recorded a no-hitter against No. 6 Valdosta State to open conference play...at the end of the year she carried a 40.2-inning scoreless streak that came to an end in the third game of the World Series.

UNA 2015: She earned first-team All-Gulf South Conference honors and was a second team All-South Region selection by Daktronics during her sophomore year...set a new school single-season record for victories after posting a 22-6 record in the circle...finished the year with an even 1.00 earned run average with 12 shutouts and 21 complete games...pitched a team-high 168 innings with 113 strikeouts and two saves.

UNA 2014: She was named the GSC Pitcher of the Year as a true freshman after posting a 19-5 record, become the first player in program history to win the award...was a two-time GSC Pitcher of the Week...finished the season with a 2.30 earned run average and 92 strikeouts on 179.2 innings pitched.

HIGH SCHOOL: She played for coach John Smith at Hatton High School...led the Hornets to four consecutive Class 2A state championships from 2010-13...was named the state tournament MVP all four seasons...was a three-time All-State selection and Class 2A Pitcher of the Year from 2011-13...participated in the AHSAA North-South All-Star Game.

PERSONAL: Her full name is Hillary Regan Carpenter. She was born on May 16, 1995. She is the daughter of Mike and Lisa Carpenter and has one brother, and one sister. She is majoring in education at UNA.
