UNA 2020: Distefano received a red-shirt for the 2020 season.

UNA 2019: She made 16 appearances in the circle last year, posting a 4-3 record with a 4.70 ERA in UNA's first season at the Division I level…started six games and totaled 28 strikeouts in 47.2 innings pitched…tossed a one-hit shutout in five innings of work against Alabama State on March 20.

UNA 2018: She had 25 appearances in the circle as a true freshman for UNA in 2018...produced a 16-3 record and earned second team All-South Region honors by D2CCA...was also a first team All-Gulf South Conference selection after producing a 2.66 earned run average with 93 strikeouts and five shutouts...earned GSC Freshman of the Week honors on Feb. 20 and was named the league's Pitcher of the Week on March 6...struck out a season-high 10 batters on March 17 at Montevallo.

HIGH SCHOOL: She played at Central High School for head coach Ty Coates…helped lead the Wildcats to the Class 4A state tournament four consecutive years (2013-2017) and won the regional championship in 2015 and 2016…was named all-area and all-county her sophomore, junior and senior seasons…was named the TimesDaily Class 4A-6A Pitcher of the Year in 2016 and 2017…played in the AHSAA North-South All-Star game as a junior.

PERSONAL: Her full name is Laken Brooke Distefano. She is the daughter to James and Amanda Distefano. She was born on June 22, 1999 and has one sister. She is majoring in elementary education at UNA.
