UNA 2017: Woodard played and started in 51 games for the Lions in 2017...led the team with a .369 batting average after going 55-for-149 at the plate...earned first team All-South Region honors by D2CCA and the NFCA...was also a second team All-Gulf South Conference pick...led the team in four other categories, including 32 RBI, nine home runs, a .451 on-base percentage and a .597 slugging percentage...reached base in 13 straight games to tie for the team's longest streak of the season...added 15 multiple-hit and nine multiple-RBI games, including a 3-for-4, four-RBI showing on April 24 against Christian Brothers...also provided the hit that drove in the winning runs in the Lions' 4-2 win over UAH in the NCAA South 2 Regional Tournament.

UNA 2016: She saw action in 36 games as a true freshman from UNA...had 13 starts...batted .302 on the year with 17 RBI...recorded a .642 slugging percentage after recording three doubles and five home runs to go along with her 16-for-53 showing at the plate...scored 12 runs...had a 2-for-3, two-RBI showing on March 12 at Lee...was named Gulf South Conference Freshman of the Week on April 12.

HIGH SCHOOL: She played at Wilson Central High School for coach Brandon 'Bubba' Sutton...helped lead the Wildcats to three straight district championships (2013-15), two straight region titles (2014-15) and a 2015 AAA state championship...received all-tournament and all-district honors as a freshman, all-district honors as a sophomore, all-tournament and all-district honors as a junior and all-district honors as a senior...batted .400 as a senior with 18 doubles, six homeruns and 32 RBI...had a .489 on-base percentage and a .687 slugging percentage.

PERSONAL: Her full name is Shelby Elise Woodard. She was born on April 3, 1997. She is the daughter of Jerry and Becky Woodard and has one brother, Hunter, and one sister, Lauren. She is majoring in exercise science at UNA.
