Biography

UNA 2019: Westfall started all 46 games for the Lions last season…she led the team with a .354 batting average and was an ASUN Second Team All-Conference selection…went 46-for-130 at the plate with three doubles, a triple and 15 RBI…had an 11-game hitting streak and added eight games with at least two hits, including 4-for-4 showing at Alcorn State on Feb. 8.

UNA 2018: She saw action in 49 games for the Lions in 2018, all starts at third base...batted .272 on the year with 22 RBI...collected 34 hits, including seven doubles, two triples and four home runs...went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBI on March 30 at West Alabama...also hit a walk-off three-run home run to defeat Shorter on March 10.

COLLEGE: She played her freshman season at Middle Tennessee...played in six games, including two starts on the mound...struck out seven with three walks in 7.2 innings of work.

HIGH SCHOOL: She was a pitcher and shortstop for coach Penny Lyons at Siegel High School… helped lead the team to a state championship her freshman year, a region title her sophomore season, a fourth-place finish her junior year and a state runner-up during her senior year...named Defensive MVP in 2013 and was an all-district selection the following year…won 7AAA and DNJ Pitcher of the Year honors as a junior and senior and earned 7AAA MVP, and high school All-American honors in 2016.

PERSONAL: Her full name is Veronica Rachelle Westfall. She is the daughter of Tim and Meredith Westfall. She was born on January 18, 1998 and has one brother and two sisters. She is majoring in biology at UNA.
