LIONS DROP REGULAR SEASON FINALE AT UAH

HUNTSVILLE – UAH hit 16 three-point baskets and had six different players reach double figures in scoring in a 108-88 home win over the University of North Alabama men's basketball team Saturday afternoon in the regular-season finale. With the loss, UNA falls to 16-12 overall and 13-9 in Gulf South Conference play. The Lions will be the No. 4 seed in the upcoming GSC Tournament and will host a first-round game Tuesday against Delta State.

On Saturday, UAH solidified its spot atop the GSC and NCAA Division II South Region standings. The Chargers raced out to a 22-6 lead and never trailed. UNA was able to close the gap to 60-51 at the half, but could get no closer than five points over the final 20 minutes of play.

After UAH extended its lead to 71-52 early in the second half, the Lions used a 15-1 run to get back in the game. John Fletcher capped the run with a three-pointer at the 12:32 mark to make the score 72-67. The Chargers, however, responded with an 8-0 run of their own to make it 80-67 and the lead remained double digits the rest of the way.

For the game, UAH shot 55.6 percent from the floor, including a 60.9 percent showing in the second half alone.

Fletcher led North Alabama with a career-high 35 points. The total eclipsed his previous-career mark of 32 set against the Chargers earlier this season. Overall it was the senior's third 30-plus performance of the year.

Dimario Jackson added 14 points for the Lions while Tavaras Tolliver tossed in 10 points on the night. UAH (21-6 overall, 18-4 GSC) was led by Seab Webster's 20 points. Greg Gardner also produced a triple-double for the Chargers with 14 points, 14 assists and 10 rebounds.

Tip-off for Tuesday's GSC opening-round game will be at 6 p.m. at Flowers Hall. Tickets will go on sale at 8 a.m. on Monday morning. Season ticket holders will have until 4 p.m. on Monday to renew their seats. All other seats will go on sale to the general public at 8 a.m. on Tuesday morning.

Ticket prices will be $10 for general admission, $5 for student general admission, $15 for seat backs and $20 for courtside.
