VOLLEYBALL DOWNS UNION TO IMPROVE TO 24-6

JACKSON, Tenn., – Three players reached double figures in kills as the University of North Alabama volleyball team improved to 24-6 with a 3-1 win at Union on Saturday. With the 25-11, 23-25, 25-20, 25-12 win, UNA maintains second place in the Gulf South Conference with a 12-2 league record.
 
Lexie Bradley led all players with 26 kills and added 10 digs for her sixth double-double of the season. The senior from Florence also hit .396 on the day with a block and two service aces.
 
Jessica Austin and Christina Ellwanger combined for 27 kills. Austin hit .520 with 14 kills and a match-high five blocks. Ellwanger, a true freshman, added 13 kills with a block and eight digs. She also hit .313 for the match.
 
Jayden Davila-McClary added 53 assists while three UNA player reached double digits in digs. Ashtyn Kapovich led the way with 17 digs, followed by Ava Carnley's 12 digs. Bradley rounded out the top defensive numbers on the day.
 
UNA will play at UAH at 7 p.m. on Tuesday. A victory over the Chargers would clinched second place in the GSC standings.
