CARROLLTON, Ga. -- The University of North Alabama completed a three-game sweep of West Georgia with a 16-10 win in a slug-fest against the Wolves.
UNA, now 7-3 overall and riding a four-game winning streak, scored eight runs in the second inning to take a commanding lead but saw West Georgia rally to pull within a run at 11-10 after four innings. The Lions then added five insurance runs with two in the fifth and three in the seventh.
UNA's
Kyle Hubbuch led the offensive attack, going three-for-three with three runs scored and six runs batted in. His hits included his fourth home run of the season and a double.
Davis Elliott was three-for-six with three runs scored and one RBI and
T.J. Lockett was three-for-four with four runs scored and one RBI.
The Lions out-hit the Wolves 14 to 10.
UNA starter
Devan Traglia was battered for nine runs on seven hits in three and two-thirds innings. He walked four and struckout four.
Lane Wallace (1-2) then came on and pitched three and a third innings, allowing one run on three hits with two walks and two strikeouts.
Channing Wall came on to pitch two scoreless innings to close the game.
North Alabama plays at Auburn-Montgomery Wednesday at 6 p.m.
