JACKSONVILLE, Fla., – Jacksonville used late scoring runs in each set to record a 3-0 sweep over the University of North Alabama volleyball team Friday evening in ASUN Conference action. The 25-17, 26-24, 25-19 loss leaves the Lions with a 2-12 overall record and 0-5 in league play.

Malaisia Stallworth, Joise Maldonado and Madison Ruble had six kills each, but the Lions hit .152 as a team while the host Dolphins recorded a .336 hitting percentage.

Jacksonville hit .406 in the opening set to take the early lead. JU's Sara Dyslin had six kills in the frame while the Lions had eight as a team.

The Dolphins led 18-13 in the second set before UNA rallied. Libby Jump had three service aces during an 8-1 run as the Lions grabbed the lead. North Alabama got to set point at 24-23 before three straight Jacksonville points ended the frame.

In the third set, JU used an early run to grab the lead and fought off the Lions every time they rallied. After a kill by Emma Ellis cut a three-point deficit to 10-9, the Dolphins extended their lead to 14-10. UNA again got within a single point when a kill by Stallworth made the score 14-13. Jacksonville, however continued to pull away. A 6-0 run put the game out of reach.

Ellis and Jayden Davila-McClary had 10 assists each on the night. Catie Ladner also turned in a team-high 11 digs.

UNA will play at Stetson on Saturday. Match time is set for 6 p.m. (EST) on the Stetson campus in DeLand, Fla.
