COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- The University of North Alabama managed just one run on three hits as the Lions dropped a non-conference baseball game at Tennessee Tech, 7-1.
The two teams were scoreless until the bottom of the third when the Golden Eagles scored two runs off UNA starter
Adam Mancour. North Alabama got a run back in the fifth but Tennessee Tech countered with three runs of its own in the bottom half of the fifth and added two insurance runs in the sixth.
With the loss, UNA is now 7-25, while Tennessee Tech is 13-17.
North Alabama's lone run came when
Colt Chrestman singled and scored on a
Tate Mathis RBI-triple. UNA's only other hit was by
Ben Kiefer.
Adam Mancour (1-3) took the loss for UNA, allowing three runs on three hits over four complete innings. He struckout six batters. Caleb Barnes and
Austin Nichols allowed two runs each.
North Alabama travels to Jacksonville, Fla., for a three-game ASUN series with Jacksonville beginning Friday.
