LIONS DROP FIVE-SETTER AT BELLARMINE

LOUISVILLE, Ky., – After winning the opening set, North Alabama could not hold off Bellarmine on Friday, dropping a five-set road contest in ASUN Conference volleyball action. The 25-22, 21-25, 18-25, 25-23, 8-15 loss gives UNA a 6-11 overall record with the Lions still seeking their first victory in league play at 0-4.
 
Three players reached double figures in kills for UNA, which lost a five-setter to the Knight for the third consecutive match. The Lions hit .204 as a team and totaled 15 total blocks, but could not string together enough points down the stretch.
 
Mattrice Harris led North Alabama with a career-high 15 kills. The junior from Opelika hit .522 on the night and added two blocks. Katy Floyd added 14 kills in a return to her hometown of Louisville. AK Griggs also had 12 kills and five blocks for the Lions.
 
Breylee Linder recorded another double-double with 52 assists and a team-high 17 digs. Floyd also had a double-double with 12 digs while Kennedey Johnson's 10 digs gave her double figures for the match.
 
Jayme Scott paced Bellarmine (5-10 overall, 1-3 ASUN) with 17 kills.
 
UNA will play at Eastern Kentucky on Saturday. Match time is set for noon (CST) on the EKU campus in Richmond, Ky.
