DAVIDSON, N.C. -- Davidson built a 5-1 lead early and held on for an 8-4 win over North Alabama, snapping the Lions three-game winning streak.
With the loss, UNA is now 4-18, while Davidson improved to 14-9.
North Alabama starter
Hunter Davidson was roughed up for three runs in the bottom of the first inning before the Lions got one back on a
Dominick McIntyre RBI-single in the top of the second.
Davidson came back with two more runs in the second to make it 5-1.
The Lions got a run in the third when
Peyton Thomas drove in
Devne Daniel on a ground out, added another in the fifth on a Thomas RBI-single and another in the sixth on a Levin Jensen RBI ground out.
After the Lions had closed the gap to 5-4, Davidson added a run in the sixth and two in the eighth to make the final count 8-4.
Davidson (1-3) took the loss, allowing five runs on four hits over five innings.
Will Haberstock pitched two and two-thirds innings, giving up three runs on five hits.
Austin Emener walked three baters before recording the final out.
Austin Thrasher led UNA with three hits and two runs scored, while
Reid Homan added two hits.
The three-game series with Davidson continues Friday at 4:30 p.m.
