LAFAYETTE, La. -- Louisiana scored runs in six of its eight innings at the plate and completed a three-game sweep of North Alabama with a 13-3 win Sunday at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field at Russo Park.
UNA is now 7-38 overall, while Louisiana improved to 26-20.
Drew Hudson led the Lions with three hits, going 3-for-4 in the game.
Devne Daniel added two hits in the ten-hit attack.
The Ragin Cajuns had 17 hits in the game.
UNA went on top with a run in the first inning as Hudson singled, went to third on a Daniel double and scored on a wild pitch.
The Ragin Cajuns tied the game with a run in the bottom of the first and took a 2-1 lead with a run in the second inning.
Louisiana then extended its lead to 12-1 with three more runs in the third inning, four in the fifth and three in the sixth.
UNA got its second run of the day in the top of the seventh when
Luke Harper singled and later scored on an RBI-single by
Ben Kiefer.
The Ragin Cajuns scored a run in the bottom of the seventh to make it 13-2 and the Lions scored their final run in the top of the eighth when Hudson doubled and scored on a
Peyton Thomas single.
North Alabama starter
Will Haberstock (1-4) took the loss, allowing six runs on seven hits over four and a third innings. He walked five and struckout four. He was the first of five Lions to pitch in the game.
The Lions play second ranked Vanderbilt on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in Nashville, Tenn.
