UNA MEN RELEASE 2022-23 BASKETBALL SCHEDULE

FLORENCE – A 13-game home slate, along with road trips at SEC, ACC, Pac12, Big West and American Athletic Conference opponents highlight the 2022-23 University of North Alabama men's basketball schedule. The UNA men's team will open its first season at a full Division I institution on Monday, Nov. 7, at home against Oakwood.
 
"The new era of North Alabama basketball has begun, and we are excited about the schedule we have built," said UNA men's basketball head coach Tony Pujol. "It is our program's philosophy to focus on testing our student-athletes against opponents with varying styles of play that will prepare us for the challenges we will face throughout the ASUN Conference."
 
Following the season opener, UNA will travel to Huntsville on Nov. 10 to play at Alabama A&M. A home game against Blue Mountain on Nov. 14 will be followed by six consecutive games away from Flowers Hall. The Lions will play at Mississippi Valley State on Nov. 18 before traveling to Santa Barbara, Calif., for two games, including a neutral-site matchup against Hampton on Nov. 22 and a true road contest at host UC-Santa Barbara the following day.
 
North Alabama will close out the month of November with road games at Georgia Tech (Nov. 26) and Memphis (Nov. 30). UNA will play at Morehead State on Dec. 3 before returning home on Dec. 7 to host Alabama State. The next two games feature road trips to Colorado (Dec. 15) and Ole Miss (Dec. 20) before the Lions return home to close out the non-conference of the schedule with a home game on Dec. 22 against Williams Baptist.
 
ASUN Conference play begins on Saturday, Dec. 31, when the Lions travel to face Jacksonville State. UNA will host its ASUN home opener on Jan. 2 with a 6 p.m. tip-off against Bellarmine. Aside from the traditional slate of conference matchups, the Lions will travel to ASUN and Division I newcomer Queens on Jan. 14. Fellow conference newcomer Austin Peay will visit Flowers Hall on Feb. 9.
 
The ASUN Tournament will begin February 27. The 2023 ASUN championship will be held March 5 with Selection Sunday begin held the following week.
