AUBURN, Ala. -- Auburn scored six runs in the first inning and North Alabama was held to just three hits as the Tigers took a 14-1 victory over the Lions at Hitchcock Field.
Auburn scored at least one run in five of the six innings where the Tigers came to plate, while the Lions scorde their only run in the second inning.
UNA starter
Avery Brown allowed six runs on five hits in just a third of an inning, and walked three. The Lions would send five relievers to the mound, with five of them allowing runs.
Offensively, UNA's only run came when
Drew Hudson singled with one out in the second inning and was driven hom on an RBI-double by
Jackson Cheek.
The Lions' only other hits in the game were an
Andrew Knight single and a
Drew Hudson double.
Auburn starter Drew Nelson threw a complete game and retired 15 straight batters from the second to the seventh inning.
North Alabama is now 5-18 on the season, while Auburn improved to 17-7-1.
UNA plays a three-game ASUN Conference road series this weekend at Stetson.
