Box Score MURRAY, Ky. -- North Alabama scored runs in four of the first five innings but couldn't hold a 7-1 lead as the Lions lost 8-7 to Murray State at Reagan Field in a non-conference baseball contest.
The Lions got three runs in the second inning, one in the third, one in the fourth and two in the fifth to take a 7-1 lead on the Racers.
In the second inning,
Cal Cook walked,
Jonathan Lane doubled and
Jackson Ferrigno ripped a three-run home run to put the Lions on top.
In the third,
Gehrig Frei was hit-by-pitch and scored on a Cook RBI-double.
In the fourth,
Kyle Machado reached on a fielder's choice and scored on an RBI-single from Frei.
Machado and
Andrew Knight had RBI-singles in the fifth as the Lions added two additional runs.
Murray State scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth, one in the seventh and three in the eighth to tie the game. The Racers then scored the winning run in the bottom of the ninth. Â
UNA starter
Kevin Henrich pitched five complete innings, allowing three runs on four hits with seven walks and three strikeouts. Four Lion relievers followed with
Justus Agosto (1-5) taking the loss when he gave up a solo home run to Carson Garner to lead off the bottom of the ninth.
UNA is ow 9-30 on the season.
