FLORENCE, Ala. -- Austin Peay broke a 2-2 tie with a run in the fourth inning and went on to a 6-2 win over North Alabama in the Lions' regular-season finale.
The loss snapped a five-game UNA win streak and the Lions close the season at 14-37 overall and 8-22 in the ASUN Conference. The ight league wins is the most by a UNA baseball team in the Division I era.
North Alabama had won the first two games of the series with Austin Peay but the Governors took advantage of seven Lion walks and two hit batters to pull out the win, despite being held to just seven hits.
UNA took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning when
Jonathan Lane reached on a fielder's choice and scored on an errant throw. Austin Peay tied the game with a run in the second and took a 2-1 lead with a run in the third. The Lions tied it in the bottom of the third as Lane doubled and eventually scored on a wild pitch.
The Governors got a solo run in the fourth, two more in the sixth and one in the eighth for a 6-2 win.
UNA starter
Justus Agosto (2-6) took the loss, allowing five runs on five hits over six innings, He walked five and struckout six.
Jackson Ferrigno had two singles in the game and extended his streak of having reached base safely to 27 straight games.
