FLORENCE, Ala. (September 13, 2023) – The University of North Alabama men's and women's basketball team will be hosting Purple Pandemonium on Friday, Oct. 6, in downtown Florence.
The event is free to the public and will coincide with First Fridays in the downtown area between Mugshots and 306 Barbecue. It will feature player intros featuring both UNA teams, contests and giveaways for a gift card from Mugshots. Fans can come out and interact with players and coaches as the Lions build excitement and prepare for the 2023-2024 season.
"We are incredibly excited to partner with 'First Friday' and create a great experience for our student-athletes and our community," said UNA men's head coach Tony Pujol. "We look forward to introducing the new additions to the program, as well as welcome back some familiar faces. We're looking forward to seeing all the Lions fans on October 6!"
Festivities will start at 5:30 p.m. with music from DJ Casper, with Purple Pandemonium starting at 6 p.m. It will conclude with the Pumpkin Drop at 7 p.m., followed by an afterparty at Mugshots beginning at 7:15 p.m.
"I love what we are doing with Purple Pandemonium this year," said UNA women's head coach Missy Tiber. "Incorporating downtown and 'First Friday' with an event to start our season will allow more people to see what we are about and a non-traditional environment. I think the team will love doing all this outdoors, and it will be a special event for everyone."
Season tickets will also be available for fans to secure their seats for the upcoming season. For more information regarding tickets, click here.
