NOTES
The Rundown: UNA used three home runs and eight runs to topple Tennessee Tech 8-4 in Cookeville on Tuesday, March 19.
Dominick McIntyre picked up four RBIs, a home run and a double in the victory over the Golden Eagles. The Lions are coming off of a three-game set at EKU over the weekend in which the Colonels won all three games.
Unfamiliar Territory: Thursday's game against Lipscomb is just the second time UNA has played a game on Thursday this season. The first came in a rescheduled game against Murray State on March 7, originally scheduled for Wednesday, March 6. UNA is set to take on Austin Peay later this season on Thursday, May 16.
Closing in on 300: North Alabama head baseball coach Jad Prachniak has 295 career wins entering the ASUN series with Lipscomb. Prachniak came to UNA with 273 career victories at Division II West Chester, where he won two NCAA Division II National Championships.
Home Sweet Home: UNA has a 6-8 record in home games so far this season, while holding a 2-7 record in away and neutral site matchups. The Lions sport home victories over Morehead State, UAB and Kennesaw State while also boasting a series sweep over UT Martin at Mike D. Lane Field on March 8-10.
New Looks: After making his first five appearances out of the bullpen this season,
Anthony Pingeton has now made starts in three consecutive series for North Alabama. Pingeton has now tossed 16.0 innings, allowing just six runs and two walks while striking out 10 batters in his three starts this season.
Bring Out the Brooms: On March 8-10, the UNA staff allowed just three runs to UT Martin in a series sweep, the fewest in a three-game series since three consecutive shutouts over Christian Brothers in 2018. The series over Christian Brothers came in North Alabama's final season as members of NCAA Division II.
Scouting the Bisons: Lipscomb enters the weekend series against UNA with a 5-18 overall record and a 1-5 conference record. The Bisons are coming off of a 7-4 midweek victory over Memphis, who UNA matched up with earlier this season. Lipscomb has faced off with Austin Peay and Stetson in ASUN play so far this season. Last year, Lipscomb finished 36-26 overall and 23-7 in ASUN play, winning the ASUN Baseball Championship and advancing to the NCAA Regional hosted at Clemson.
Lipscomb Series History: The two teams have met 18 times since UNA's jump to Division I, with Lipscomb holding a 13-5 edge over the Lions. UNA holds the all-time lead over the Bisons, 16-14. Lipscomb swept UNA in Florence last season and enters the weekend series with a 10-game winning streak over the Lions.
