Lions travel to Missouri for rematch of last year’s FCS Kickoff

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (September 4, 2025) – The University of North Alabama football team will move on to FCS play this weekend with a non-conference road game at Southeast Missouri on Saturday in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
 
Here are the top things to know for Saturday's road game.
 
1. KICKOFF: The Lions and Redhawks will kickoff at 6 p.m. at Houck Field.
 
2. TICKETS: Tickets are available at this link. The visitor's bench is located in front of sections 108-114.  
 
3. PARKING: Parking is limited and will be available in the public lots on a first-come, first-serve basis. A parking map is available here with non-reserved lots unhighlighted.
 
4. MUGSHOTS WATCH PARTY: Fans who are not making the trip to SEMO are encouraged to join our watch party at Mugshots in Downtown Florence. The broadcast will begin at 6 p.m. Mugshots is the official UNA Watch Party location for away football games this season.
 
5. WATCH ON ESPN+: Saturday's game will stream on ESPN+ with Erik Sean and Rick Wieser on the call. Fans can tune in at 6 p.m. at this link or on the ESPN app.
 
6. NEW RADIO HOME: This season, the Lions are on the fastest growing digital radio platform in college football, The Varsity Network. Fans can listen free of charge to all UNA football games on the Varsity Network app or on roarlions.com/watch. The broadcast is also available on Facebook, X, YouTube and Twitch. "Voice of the Lions" Benjamin Ray, color analyst Bryan Neece and sideline reporter Chase Glover will be the radio broadcast team for Saturday. The Countdown to Kickoff Presented by Bank Independent begins at 5 p.m. followed by kickoff at 6 p.m.
 
7. LIVE STATS: Fans who are interested in following live stats can do so via StatBroadcast.
 
8. SERIES HISTORY: This will mark the third all-time meeting between UNA and SEMO. The series is currently tied 1-1. The Lions won the first meeting all the way back in 1956 by a 63-13 final in Florence. It took 68 years for UNA and SEMO to meet again, as the Lions and Redhawks
played in last year's FCS Kickoff game in Montgomery, Ala. SEMO won 37-15 to even the series. This will be UNA's first trip to Cape Girardeau for football.
 
9. UNA vs. THE SHOW ME STATE: The Lions have a 6-4 record against the state of Missouri. SEMO is one of five schools UNA has faced from the state. UNA is unbeaten against three of those five schools, including wins over Central Missouri (1991 and 1992), College of Ozarks (1950) and Missouri State (1981 and 1982).
 
10. UNA vs. THE BIG SOUTH-OVC ALLIANCE: Much like the United Athletic Conference has done with the WAC and ASUN, the Big South and Ohio Valley Conference are also combined for football. UNA has played at least one opponent from this conference alliance each season since moving to Division I in 2018. UNA is 26-22-2 against the current members of this conference, including wins over SEMO, Gardner-Webb, Charleston Southern, Tennessee Tech, UT Martin and Western Illinois.
