FLORENCE – North Alabama held Christian Brothers to a negative team hitting percentage in two of the three sets during a 3-0 sweep over the Bucs Saturday in Gulf South Conference volleyball action. The 25-18, 25-13, 25-14 victory gives UNA at least 20 wins for the fourth straight season.

As a team, CBU hit -.009 on the day for its lowest attack percentage since 2009. For the second consecutive match, UNA held an opponent without a player with double figure kills.

Lexie Bradley had a match-high 12 kills while three UNA players reached double digit dig totals on the day.

UNA (20-6 overall, 8-2 Gulf South Conference) trailed 8-4 in the opening set before taking control. The Lions used a 14-2 run to grab an 18-10 lead and never looked back.

North Alabama led wire to wire in the second set, scoring the first four points of the game and getting four kills from freshman Christian Ellwanger. The final set featured a .414 hitting percentage by the Lions. Bradley and Jessica Austin led the way with four kills each.

Jayden Davila-McClary had 37 assists and 13 digs on the day. Ashtyn Kapovich also had 13 digs while Ava Carnley also reached double figures with 11 digs for the Lions.

UNA will now turn its attention to a five-match GSC road swing, beginning Friday at Mississippi College. Match time is set for 7 p.m. on the MC campus in Clinton, Miss.
