FLORENCE, Ala. -- After tying the game at 6-6 with a run in the fifth inning, the University of North Alabama gave up an unearned run in the eighth inning and fell 7-6 to Tennessee Tech at Mike Lane Field.
UNA, now 3-16 overall, trailed 5-0 after two innings but got four runs back in the third inning and another in the fourth to tie it at 5-5. A UNA error with two outs in the fifth allowed Tennessee Tech to regain lead but the Lions again rallied to tie the game in the bottom half of the frame.
After two scoreless innings, Jason Hogan led off the eighth with a double for the Golden Eagle, Gavin Johns tried to sacrifice him to second but the ball was thrown wide of first on the play allowing the go-ahead run to score.
Bryant Claunch (0-1) took the loss for UNA, allowing one unearned run on two hits over two innings. He was the fourth of five Lion pitchers to throw in the game. Tennessee Tech's Mark Leonard (2-1) got the win, allowing just one run on three hits over the final five and a third innings.

Adam Mancour was touched for five runs on five hits over two innings on the mound.
Garret Gillum then came on and held the Eagles scoreless for two innings as the Lions mounted a comeback.
The Lions got four runs on just two hits in the third as
Kevin Brenning walked with the bases loaded to score a run and two more runs scored on a Tennessee Tech error.
Tate Mathis doubled in the fourth run but
Davis Elliott was thrown out at the plate trying to tie the game.
Landon Langston was hit by pitch to start the fourth and later scored on a
Peyton Sockwell RBI-double.
After TTU regained the lead, UNA tied it in the fifth as Elliott doubled and scored on a ground-out by Mathis.
UNA was out-hit nine to six in the game.
North Alabama begins play in the ASUN Conference this weekend with a three-game slate at Kennesaw State.
