MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- The University of North Alabama took 3-0 and 6-3 leads but couldn't hold them as Memphis rallied for a 18-11 win over the Lions at FedEx Park.
With the loss, UNA is now 11-29 overall, while Memphis improved to 20-18 with the win.
In the second inning,
Reid Homan singled and
Drew Hudson doubled before
Colt Chrestman singled in Homan.
Gerardo Miranda sacrificed in another run and the final run of the inning scored on a
Harris Kain RBI-single.
Memphis scored a run in the bottom of the second inning and added two more in the third to tie the game.
The Lions then had their second three-run inning of the day in the fourth. Chrestman singled, Miranda walked and Kain singled in a run.
Davis Elliott singled in Miranda and Kain later scored on an error for a 6-3 lead.
Memphis responded quickly with four runs in the bottom of the fourth, five in the fifth, one in the sixth and five in the seventh.
Colt Chrestman hit his first home run of the season in the top of the eighth inning to make it 18-7 and
Peyton Thomas added a solo shot in the inning to make it 18-8.
UNA scored three runs in the ninth inning and had two additional runners on base before the Tigers could record their first out.
The 18 runs and 17 hits by Memphis were the most allowed by UNA this season.
UNA pitchers walked 12 batters in the game, including five in the seventh inning.
Adam Mancour started for the Lions and allowed three runs on four hits over three innings.
Nick Cummingsgave up three runs in the fourth without recording an out and
Josh Stillman came on to surrender six runs on seven his in an inning and a third. Stillman (1-1) took the loss.
Austin Nichols was touched for a run on two hits in one and two-thirds innings of work,
Keegan Foge gave up five runs on a hit and four walks without recording an out, and
Kaleb Barnes pitched the final two innings, allowing no runs on two hits.

North Alabama will return to ASUN Conference play on Friday when the Lions travel to Ft. Myers, Fla., to take on Florida Gulf Coast in a three-game series.
