LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- North Alabama took an early 2-0 lead but couldn't hold it as Bellarmine rallied for a 6-3 win over the Lions to close out a three-game ASUN Conference series.
With the loss, UNA is now 1-16 overall and 0-6 in ASUN Conference play. Bellarmine improved to 7-10 overall and 3-3 in league play.
Drew Hudson led off the game with a home run for UNA and the Lions added another run in the third inning on a solo home run by
Devne Daniel.
Bellarmine then tied the game with two runs in the bottom of the third.
UNA went back on top with a run in the sixth when
Peyton Thomas doubled and scored on an
Austin Thrasher RBI-single.
Bellarmine responded with two runs in the bottom of the sixth to take a 4-3 lead and added two insurance runs in the seventh.
Brycen Parrish took the loss for UNA, allowing two runs on two hits in two innings of relief. UNA starter
Kyle Moore limited the Knights to two runs on six hits in four and a third innings of work.
John Lundgren faced three batters and allowed the final two runs.
Thrasher and Daniel led UNA with two its each
UNA has lost 10 straight as the Lions head to Starkville, Miss., to face Southeastern Conference foe Mississippi State on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
