ATLANTA (November 6, 2023) – North Alabama graduate student middle blocker/right side hitter Anna Katherine Griggs was announced as the Atlantic Sun Conference Volleyball Player of the Week by the league office on Monday.

Starting in both home matches against Bellarmine and EKU, Griggs averaged a .719 hitting percentage with 24 total kills in a pair of wins at CB&S Bank Arena.

Griggs set a career high in hitting percentage last Friday against Bellarmine, finishing with a .818 attack percentage on nine kills in the three-set sweep of the Knights. The ASUN leader in hitting percentage also finished with a match-high .667 attack percentage and 15 kills in the four-set victory over EKU on Sunday. 

Her performance against Bellarmine helped lead the Lions to their highest single-match hitting percentage in the Division I era. North Alabama also clinched a berth in the ASUN Championship tournament with the two victories over the weekend.

The Lions will round out the regular season on the road in Tennessee, with 6 p.m. start times against Lipscomb on Thursday, Nov. 9 and Austin Peay on Friday, Nov. 10.
