FLORENCE -- University of North Alabama cross country coach Scott Trimble has announced the signing of six runners to National Letters of Intent with the Lions.

The UNA men's cross country team has added six signees, while the UNA women's team added two runners.

The UNA men return just one letterman from last season and Trimble is looking to a banner groupf of signees to get UNA back into the thick of the Gulf South Conference race.

  HUNTSVILLE, Ala. -- The University of North Alabama women's cross country team finished 14th at the NCAA Division II South Regional, while the UNA men were 19th.

  HOOVER, Ala. – The University of North Alabama Cross Country teams competed Saturday in the GSC Cross Country Championships.  The men's team finished ninth.  The women's team finished fifth.

  TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- The University of North Alabama cross country teams competed at the Crimson Classic, with the UNA women finishing ninth in their event, and the Lion men finishing 11th.

  HUNTSVILLE – The University of North Alabama cross country teams turned in a pair of top 10 performances Saturday at the Fleet Feet Sports/Earl Jacoby Memorial with the men’s team finishing ninth and the UNA women coming in fifth.

SEWANEE, Tenn. -- The University of North Alabama cross country teams opened their 2007 seasons at the Sewanee Invitational Saturday, with the UNA women finishing 11th and the men 13th.

  MCKAY FINISHES 21ST AT NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS
 

FLORENCE -- University of North Alabama senior cross country runner Emry McKay of Huntsville will make a run at a national championship Saturday when she competes in the NCAA Division II National Championships at the Escambia County Equestrian Center in Pensacola, Fla.  McKay earned a spot in the NCAA Championships for the third straight year when she won the Division II South Regional title. She finished 29th at the 2004 NCAA Championships and improved to 17th in 2005.

  MCKAY WINS NCAA CROSS COUNTRY SOUTH REGIONAL
  MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- University of North Alabama senior Emry McKay won the NCAA Division II South Regional Cross Country Championship Saturday at Plough Park and led the UNA women to a fifth- place finish overall.
  MCKAY NAMED GSC RUNNER OF THE WEEK
  University of North Alabama runner Emry McKay of Huntsville, Ala., is the Gulf South Conference female Cross Country Runner of the Week. As she has all season, the senior was at the front of the pack again, finishing second overall among 131 competitors at the Crimson Classic hosted by the University of Alabama.
  MCKAY FINISHES SECOND AT UAH INVITATIONAL
  HUNTSVILLE -- Senior Emry McKay turned in a strong second place finish overall and junior Sheena Murphy was 10th as the University of North Alabama women's cross country team finished sixth in the UAH Cross Country Invitational.
  LIONS OPEN CROSS COUNTRY SEASON AT SEWANEE
  SEWANEE, Tenn. -- University of North Alabama senior All-American Emry McKay finished third overall and helped pace the University of North Alabama women's cross country team to a fifth place finish in the Sewanee Invitational. The North Alabama finished ninth in a 15-team field.  McKay's time of 18:35 over the 5k course trailed only a pair of runners from Mississippi State. As a team, UNA finished behind Mississippi State, Emory, Rhodes and Birmingham Southern.
  UNA'S MCKAY FINISHES 17TH IN DIVISION II CHAMPIONSHIPS
  POMONA, Calif. -- University of North Alabama junior Emry McKay of Huntsville finished 17th in the NCAA Division II Women's Cross Country Championships with a time of 22:04.  McKay improved 12 spots from last year's championships, where she finished 29th. Her 17th place finish this season earned McKay Division II All-American honors for the second straight year.  Grand Valley State's Mandu Zemba won the women's event with a time of 21:01.  A two-year runner at UNA, McKay competed at Alabama-Birmingham as a freshman before transferring to run for the Lions. In her two seasons at UNA she is a two-time All-Gulf South Conference, All-South Region and All-American runner.
