Who is eligible? The Division II Football Hall of Fame is only open to players who have competed on the NCAA Division II level since the division was created in 1973. A player had to have played the majority of his career, or the most significant portion (as determined by the selection committee), in the NCAA Division II (The school must have been an active member of the NCAA Division II at the time the athlete competed.) Players or coaches must be nominated by the sports information office at the NCAA Division II school that they competed at, and a player becomes eligible for consideration ten years after his last year of intercollegiate football played. Each nominee's football achievements on the collegiate level are the prime area of consideration, but the selection will also take into account the player's professional football career and post football life and achievements.
