UNA Cheer Priorities:
Support all athletic teams, and create a loud and positive environment
Strong academic achievement
Serve as ambassadors for UNA in the community and at on campus events 

Responsibilities as a Cheerleader:
Cheering at UNA is a yearlong commitment. Tryouts are held each spring, and immediately following tryouts, cheer responsibilities begin. The summer includes practices, fundraisers, public appearances, and cheer camp. All members are responsible for participating in these summer activities. In August, a weekly practice schedule will be set. Our cheerleaders have the opportunity to cheer at all home football and basketball games. Additional appearances will be made at select volleyball games, away games, pep rallies, and other community and university events.
 
Conduct:
All cheerleaders are expected to abide by the UNA Cheerleading policy. This includes adhering to all University and Athletics Department policies. Squad members are expected to focus on their grades and keep a 2.0 GPA. Failure to properly represent the University and cheer program will result in disciplinary action up to immediate dismissal from the squad.
 
Mascots - Leo & Una:
Leo and Una are available for select University and community events. Any appearance must be within a reasonable distance from campus. Please submit your request at least 2 weeks prior to the appearance to smlovelace@una.edu. Cost per appearance is $40 for one mascot and $60 for both. If they are traveling from campus, mileage will also be included at the current state rate. This must be paid in advance. Click on the link below to request the mascots.
