JACKSON, Tenn., – An 11-3 mercy-rule victory at Union on Saturday gave the University of North Alabama softball team a three-game sweep and also clinched a spot for the Lions in the upcoming Gulf South Conference Tournament. Union added two runs in the bottom of the third before the Lions added to their lead. Sanders walked in the top of the fourth before giving way to pinch-runner Lexie Norfleet, who scored on an infield single by Tittle.

In the top of the fifth, Destiny Wright used her speed to make the score 8-2. After reaching on a bunt single, she stole second base before advancing to third on a ground out. She then stole home to give UNA the six-run lead.

The three-run sixth inning put the game out of reach. UNA scored on an error and also got RBI-singles by Nelson and Hannah Shollenberger to take an 11-2 lead. The Bulldogs added a run in the bottom of the frame but could get no closer.
