UNA MEN'S BASKETBALL TO PLAY AT GONZAGA IN DECEMBER
FLORENCE, Ala. -- The University of North Alabama men's basketball team will face pre-season Top 10 Gonzaga on December 28 at the McCarthey Athletic Center in Spokane, Wash.

The game will be the 14th contest of the 2018-19 men's basketball season for the Lions, which will be UNA's first as a Division I institution.

The Lions will be facing a Gonzaga program that went 32-5 last season and advanced to the Sweet 16 for the fourth straight year. The Zags have played in the NCAA Tournament every season since 1999 and have been ranked in every Associated Press final poll since 2008-09.

Gonzaga also has a remarkable 192-15 record at home at the McCarthey Center since in opened in 2004.

North Alabama will be in its first season under new head coach Tony Pujol, who came to UNA after most recents stints as an assistant coach at Wyoming and Alabama.
