NASHVILLE, Tenn., – Tennessee State won three straight singles matches to rally for a 4-3 win over the University of North Alabama men's tennis team on Monday. With the loss, UNA falls to 1-11 on the season.

North Alabama led 3-1 after winning the doubles point and getting victories at the top two singles positions. Cian Maguire posted a convincing 6-1, 6-1 win at the top spot while Yannick Pfleiderer notched at 6-3, 6-3 win at the No. 2 position. The points were sandwiched around the Tigers' first score at No. 4.

Tennessee State began the comeback with a straight sets victory at No. 3, followed by a 7-5, 6-3 win at No. 5 to set up a winner-take-all situation at the final spot. No. 6 singles went to three sets as Kato Richardson outlasted UNA's Tim Heslin 6-3, 5-7, 6-3 to secure the overall win for TSU.

In doubles play, UNA grabbed the early lead. After the Tigers posted a win at No. 2, Maguire and Andreas Hansen recorded a 6-3 win at the top spot. Pfleiderer and Cade Reasons then secured the overall point with a 7-6 victory at No. 3 doubles that included a 5-0 win in the tiebreaker.

UNA will host Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Saturday. Match time is set for 11 a.m. at the UNA Varsity Tennis Courts.
