CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. -- The University of North Alabama women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to Chattanooga in a match played in torrential rains.
With the loss, UNA is now 1-2 on the season, while Chattanooga improved to 1-0.
Chattanooga's Chloe Arnold opened the scoring at the 12-minute mark when she scored on a penalty kick. That remained as the match's only score until the 74th minute when the Mocs' Samantha Shaw scored off an assist from Mackenzie Smith for a 2-0 advantage.
North Alabama was held to just two shots, with one in each half. Chattanooga finished with seven shots and UNA's
Payton Yates recorded three saves in goal.
The Lions next match is scheduled for March 4 at home in the ASUN Conference opener against Lipscomb.
