WOMEN’S BASKETBALL ADDS GRAD TRANSFER

FLORENCE – University of North Alabama women's basketball head coach Missy Tiber has announced the addition of Julia Strachan to the team's 2021-22 roster. Strachan, who played three seasons at Adelphi University, will be a graduate student and have one year of eligibility with the Lions.
 
After posting a 27-3 record, Adelphi earned a No. 1 seed in the 2019-20 NCAA Division II Tournament. The 2020-21 season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In her first three seasons with the Panthers, Strachan 6.1 points per game. As a junior, she scored 268 points, averaging 8.9 per-contest, including a team-high 77 three-point baskets.
 
"Julia is a knock down shooter and a proven winner," said Tiber. "Her experience as a grad transfer from an exceptional, successful collegiate program will really help our young players grow. She is an outstanding student and was a valued member of her previous team."
 
A 5-9 guard from North Attleboro, Mass., Strachan reached double figures in scoring 11 times in the 2019-20 season, including five games with at least 20 points. She recorded a career-high 24 points on Jan. 1 against Chestnut Hill after tying a single-game school record with eight three-pointers.
