UNA MEN DROP REGULAR SEASON TENNIS FINALE

FLORENCE – Lipscomb recorded the doubles point, then recorded three straight wins in singles play to pick up a 5-2 win over the University of North Alabama men's tennis team Sunday afternoon at the UNA Varsity Tennis Complex. With the loss, UNA falls to 4-13 overall and will be the No. 3 seed in the upcoming ASUN Conference Tournament with a 2-4 league mark.
 
After taking the early 1-0 lead in doubles play, the Bisons notched wins at No. 1, No. 6 and No. 2 singles to clinch the match. UNA was able to win two of the final three singles matches.
 
Jamie Bixby game the Lions their first point with a 7-6, 6-4 win at No. 5 singles. The freshman from Brentwood, England, posted a 7-5 victory in the opening-set tiebreaker.
 
Following a Lipscomb victory at No. 4 singles, Guiherme Diniz completed the scoring by rallying at the No. 3 spot with a 3-6, 6-2, 6-1 win.
 
UNA and Lipscomb will meet for the third time this season when the two teams square off in the opening round of the ASUN tourney. The Lions will face the No. 2 seed Bisons on April 17 in Nashville.
