LIONS SIGN JUCO STANDOUT FORREST

FLORENCE – University of North Alabama men's basketball head coach Tony Pujol has announced the addition of Damian Forrest to the Lions' 2021-22 roster. After playing last season at Cleveland State Community College in Tennessee, he will have two years of eligibility remaining with the Lions.

"We are extremely excited to add Damian to our program," said Pujol, who begins his fourth year at the helm of the program. "His ability to affect the game on both ends of the floor should have Lions fans excited for the future.  "He is versatile on defense and had a phenomenal season this year, averaging a double-double in junior college. Beyond that, his character is exactly what we look for in a student-athlete."

A 6-10 forward from Fort Collins, Colo., Forrest averaged 15.2 points and 10.4 rebounds per game for the Cougars. He also shot 55.8 percent from the floor and pulled down a career-high 16 rebounds on Feb. 6 against Motlow State. Four days later, he scored a career-high 23 points at Chattanooga State.

Forrest played the 2019-20 season at the University of Michigan-Dearborn where he played in all 28 games as a true freshman. He averaged 8.3 points and 4.4 rebounds per contest. He prepped at Poudre High School, earning First Team All-Conference and Academic All-State honors as a junior and a senior.
