AUBURN, Ala., – Auburn improved to 5-0 on the season with a 3-0 home sweep over the University of North Alabama volleyball team on Thursday. With the 23-25, 13-25, 13-25 loss, the Lions fall to 2-6 on the season.

After rallying to win the first set, Auburn used the momentum to complete the sweep with a pair of dominant victories in the second and third games. The Tigers have not lost a set all season.

North Alabama led throughout the opening set before Auburn rallied from a 19-13 deficit to get the win. A kill at set point gave the Tigers the 25-23 victory. Mattrice Harris and Katy Floyd had four kills each to lead UNA.

The Tigers led wire to wire in the second set, hitting .409 in the frame to grab an overall 2-0 lead in the match. Another solid performance in the third set completed the sweep for Auburn.

For the match, Harris and Floyd finished with eight kills each. Harris, who prepped at nearby Opelika High School, hit .727 and added three blocks. Breylee Linder also had 27 assists while Tatum Fouche turned in 10 digs for the Lions.

UNA will travel to Spartanburg, S.C. for a trio of matches at the Wofford Invitational. The Lions open play at noon (Central) on Saturday against Gardner-Webb. UNA will play South Carolina State at 6 p.m. before closing play at the event the following day against the host Terriers.
