Box Score MURRAY, Ky. -- After taking a quick lead in the top of the first inning, the University of North Alabama allowed nine runs over the first four innings and dropped a 10-2 decision at Murray State.
With the loss, UNA's fifth straight, the Lions are now 5-10 entering ASUN Conference play this weekend against Eastern Kentucky at home.
UNA got a run in the first inning when
Drew Hudson walked, stole second and later scored on a wild pitch.
Murray State then scored three runs in the bottom of the first, added four more in the second and two in the fourth to make it 9-1.
UNA starter
Bryse Ingle (0-1) was knocked out of the game in the second inning, allowing seven runs on eight hits in an inning and a third.
North Alabama got its only other run in the top of the eighth when
Reid Homan reached on an error and eventually scored on an RBI-single from
Peyton Thomas.
The Racers answered with a run in the bottom of the eighth to make the final count 10-2.
Carson Howard allowed the final two Murray State runs in one inning of work.
UNA was out-hit 14 to five in the game.
