WOMEN’S TENNIS FALLS AT HOME TO LIBERTY

FLORENCE – The University of North Alabama women's tennis team dropped a 6-1 home match against Liberty on Friday in ASUN Conference play. With the loss UNA falls to 2-15 on the season and 0-4 in league action. Liberty improves to 15-5 and 4-1 on the year.
 
Liberty took the early lead in doubles play with 6-1 and 6-0 victories at the No. 3 and No. 1 spots respectively. The No. 2 match went unfinished with the Flames having a 4-2 lead.
 
In singles play, Liberty won the first five matches, including a 6-0, 6-1 victory at the top split to clinch the match. The Flames built a 6-0 lead before UNA's Juliette Talieu secured the final point on the day by rallying for a 4-6, 7-6, 10-6 victory at No. 3 singles.
 
UNA will continue conference play with its next match against Bellarmine on Sunday, April 3. Match time is set for 2 p.m. at the UNA varsity Tennis Courts.
