FLORENCE, Ala. (November 7, 2023) – North Alabama Men's Tennis competed in their final invitational of the fall season, hosting the UNA Invitational in Florence over the weekend at the Fairgrounds Tennis Courts in Florence.

The two-day tournament ended with sophomore Federico Scotuzzi claiming two wins in the finals for the white draw in singles competition and purple draw in doubles action with fellow sophomore Lachlan Brain. Brain and freshman Birtan Duran also took third place finishes in the Lions and Florence draw, respectively, to conclude the last outing of fall for UNA. 

The pair of Scotuzzi/Brain claimed the first finals victory for the Lions by besting the pair of Aman Dahiya/Logan Haga from Jacksonville State in a competitive 7-6 win. Scotuzzi kept his momentum going when he defeated Dahiya of JSU a second time, this time in the finals of the white draw, 6-3, 6-2. 

Brain would take third in the Lions draw, defeating Krzysztof Wetoszka of Lipscomb (7-5, 6-2), while Duran defeated Haga of JSU (6-1, 6-4) to take third in the Florence draw.

With the six-event fall season concluded for UNA Men's Tennis, the team now turns its attention to the 2024 spring season.
