Box Score BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Samford's women used a doubles point and four straight set wins in bottom four singles matches to clinch an eventual 6-1 win over North Alabama at the Pat M. Courington Tennis Pavillion.

UNA's only win came at No. 2 singles where Martina Paladini-Jennings defeated Samford's Samantha Nanere 6-4, 2-6. 10-2.

North Alabama suffered losses at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles as the Bulldogs claimed the doubles point.

UNA's Juliette Talieu won her opening set against Alexis Lopez 6-3 before dropping the second set 6-0. She then lost 10-5 in the tie-breaker.

The Lions dropped the bottom four singles matches in straight sets.

The Lions, now 1-3 on the season, host UAB on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m.
