FLORENCE, Ala. -- With a 4-1 win over Lipscomb in the final regular season match of the season, the University of North Alabama men's tennis team evened its overall record at 9-9 and its ASUN Conference record at 4-4.
With the match having been delayed by rain, the two schools skipped doubles play and the Lions took four singles victories to claim the team match.
UNA got wins from
Lachlan Brain at No. 1, Carlos Matarredona at No. 2,
Fedrricos Scotuzzi at No. 6 and the clinching fourth point from
Chris Zhang at No. 4 in a three-set thriller, 6-1, 4-6, 6-2.
The Lions open play in the ASUN Conference Tournament on Thursday, April 13 against Queens. The winner will advance to play North Florida.
