DELAND, Fla. - The University of North Alabama will begin play in the 2023 ASUN Conference Softball Tournament at 4:30 p.m. (Central) on Tuesday against Jacksonville at Patricia Wilson Field on the campus of Stetson University.
North Alabama earned the fifth overall seed and will face eighth seeded Jacksonville in one of two single-elimination games on Tuesday. The other features sixth seeded Stetson against seventh seeded Austin Peay.
On Wednesday, the action continues and moves to a double-elimination format with the third-seeded Jacksonville State Gamecocks facing the winner of the Austin Peay-Stetson contest at 2:00 p.m. in Game 1. At 4:30 p.m., fourth-seeded FGCU faces the winner of the UNA-Jacksonville clash in Game 2.
On Thursday, #2 Liberty takes on the winner of Wednesday's Game 1 at 9:00 a.m. while Central Arkansas, the ASUN Regular Season Champion and tournament's top seed, faces the winner of Game 2 at 11:30 PM.
All games are set to broadcast on ESPN+ with the 2023 ASUN Softball Champion being crowned in the postseason finale on Saturday, May 13.
This will be North Alabama's fourth appearance in the ASUN Tournament and the Lions have won opening games in 2019 and 2022.
UNA ended the regular season with a 30-14-1 record and a 12-11-1 ASUN record.
